Your Unemployment Department Is Still Verifying Your Bank Account
Once youre sure that your direct deposit information is correct, you may still have to wait a couple of weeks to start getting your payments while your unemployment department verifies your bank account. In Massachusetts, for example, this process takes nine business days. During that time, the department puts your benefits on hold, and you dont get paid.

Maximum Number of Weeks: 20Maximum Benefits Payable will Equal the least of:20 x WBA or 1/4 of Base Period wages
The Georgia Legislature passed House Bill 347 which changes the calculation method to determine the maximum number of weeks to be based upon the adjusted statewide unemployment rate in use at the time the regular UI claim is filed. The change became effective July 1, 2012.
No. The individuals base period wages are used to determine the maximum benefits payable which may or may not qualify an individual for the maximum number of weeks. The maximum benefits payable to an individual in a benefit year is the least of the maximum number of weeks times the weekly benefit amount or one-fourth of the base period wages.
An Unemployment Benefit Determination is mailed to claimants when an initial claim is filed on or after July 1, 2012. The determination will provide the rate for your claim filing period. How Is My Weekly Benefit Amount Determined
Your weekly benefit amount is the amount of money you may receive each week. This is calculated by dividing your total of wages in the last two quarters by 52. That number is then rounded to the next lower whole dollar. In order to receive a payment, the total must equal to or exceed $15. The exact amount of benefits and the length of time that you may get benefits cannot be determined until you actually file your claim for benefits.;
If You Havent Received Your Payment
To see if weve processed your payment, sign in to your eServices account and click on UI Claim. You can also call the weekly claims line and select option 3 to see if it has been processed.
If the payment was issued and it has been seven mail delivery or banking days, but you still have not received benefits, call the claims center;for help.
Replacing lost or stolen checks takes time. In the meantime, continue to submit your weekly claims.

Thousands Of Georgians To Receive $1800 In Extra Unemployment Benefits Next Week
ATLANTA Hundreds of thousands of Georgians will receive $1,800 in extra unemployment benefits next week as part of the Lost Wages Assistance Program.
The Georgia Department of Labor tells Channel 2 Action News that the money will be distributed as six extra payments of $300, spread over two days. The first $900 payment will be distributed early next week and the second $900 payment will be issued by the end of the week.
Anyone who already qualified to receive $100 or more weekly in state unemployment benefits will see the money hit their bank accounts.
The Lost Wages Assistance program was created through an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in August to make up to $44 billion in FEMA Disaster Relief funds available to pay unemployed Americans.
This comes after the $600-a-week federal payments expired in July.
After the initial $1,800 payments, its unclear if any extra benefits will be provided through the end of the year. The presidents executive order says the weekly payments will end when the balance in FEMAs disaster relief fund falls to $25 billion or on Dec. 27, 2020.
We understood the Presidents Executive Order was contingent upon the availability of funds, said Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler. Although the six weeks of benefits wasnt what many had hoped for, the additional support will make a big difference to some struggling to avoid eviction.
Ive used my savings, and my savings is about gone, Gordon said.
Your State Unemployment Department Is Overwhelmed

Again according to reporting by The Washington Post, states are still behind on processing claims 14 months into the pandemic. Theyve simply been overwhelmed by volume this entire time. When Should I File A Claim For Ui Benefits
You should file a claim for benefits if you have become unemployed through no fault of your own, you are willing to register for work and actively seek employment, and you are able and available to work if any work is offered to you. NOTE: If you are still employed, but are temporarily laid off due to a decrease in workload, your employer may file an attached claim on your behalf. Attached claims do not require that you register for work or actively seek work. If your employer refuses to file an attached claim on your behalf, you must file your own claim and meet all eligibility requirements.
When Do Unemployment Benefits Get Deposited Answers By State
Unemployment payment schedules vary by state. Your state may pay benefits weekly, bi-weekly, or use a combination of weekly and bi-weekly disbursements depending on the applicant.
Regardless of how often your state disburses benefits, you must file a claim or certification online or by phone before you receive your unemployment payment for each period.
When it comes to unemployment payment methods, most states allow you to either set up a direct deposit to your bank account or receive a prepaid debit card specifically for your unemployment benefits. Some states offer paper checks as an option as well or may mail a paper check for the first unemployment disbursement while your direct deposit or debit card is being set up.
For unemployment payment deposit details listed by state, see below.
