The Unemployment Registration Process In Montana
After applicants file for an unemployment claim, their current or most recent employer, and any employers they worked for within the last six months of filing or reactivating a claim will be asked specific questions about the applicants separation from work. All parties involved are allowed appropriate time to respond. Prompt responses may help the unemployment insurance claimant receive a decision more quickly.
To apply for unemployment benefits, the former worker must register for work and remain actively registered with Job Service, unless they are told otherwise by UI. Candidates may do this by attending the local Job Service office or going online. The website is different than the one used to file one used to file the unemployment claim. The registration remains active when the applicant logs into his or her account and uses a reemployment service, such as resume updating and job search assistance, at least once every 90 days. Failure to register or remain active will result in the recipient having his or her unemployment benefits denied. If the claimant lives in another state, he or she must register with the Job Service in that area and remain actively registered.
How To Appeal A Denial Of Unemployment Benefits In Virginia
If your unemployment claim is denied, you have 30 days to appeal the decision to the VEC. A hearing will be held on your appeal, at which you may testify, present witnesses, and offer evidence before the Appeals Examiner makes a decision.
If you aren’t satisfied with the Appeals Examiner’s decision, you may appeal it to the Office of Commission Appeals within 14 days. If you are unhappy with the Commission’s decision, you may appeal in state court.

What Type Of Claim Could I Be Eligible For
Regular/total unemploymentyou are totally unemployed when you are completely separated from employment, earning no wages and performing no services.
Low earnings/partial unemploymentyou are partially unemployed if you were hired as a full-time employee but your regular hours and earnings are reduced due to lack of work. You are on the employers payroll, but that employer cannot give you full-time work. Your employer may issue you a Low Earnings Report while your work hours are reduced.

Am I Allowed To Refuse Job Offers
If a claimant refuses an offer for work, and fails to adequately explain why the position would have been unfit or undesirable, then his or her unemployment claim could be automatically denied. This can be prevented by faithfully reporting any refusals made to work, providing full explanations of why the offer could not be accepted.
Illinois Unemployment Registration Process
After unemployment applicants file for an unemployment claim, they will be assigned a call day to certify for weeks of benefits. Applicants are required to complete their registration with the Illinois Employment Service system and will be informed that they must actively look for work and must maintain a record of their work search efforts. The work search log must be produced if requested by the agency.
A determination that the claimant was actively seeking work during a week claimed is subject to reconsideration. This determination may be reconsidered despite the fact that benefits were paid or the claimant returned to work. In order to preserve evidence that you were actively seeking work, you should not discard the written work-search record for any week you claimed unemployment benefits until 53 weeks have passed from the end of that week.
After the claim is filed, IDES will send the unemployment insurance beneficiary a statement called a UI finding. The finding shows: the first certification date, the wages paid by each employer in each calendar quarter of the base period for insured work, date of claim and benefit year begin and end dates, the weekly benefit amount and dependent allowance, and the maximum benefit balance. Update 12/29/20: The federal government has extended the federal unemployment benefit programs available through the CARES Act for an additional 11 weeks. Pandemic Unemployment Assistance and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation will be available through March 14, 2021, with qualified claimants benefits fully phasing out by April 5, 2021. Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation benefits will resume with $300 weekly payments until March 14, 2021.

What Happens After I File For Unemployment In Virginia

Continued Claims Down Almost 3400
Virginias new unemployment claims increased by 34.9% last week, the Virginia Employment Commission reported Thursday.
For the filing week ending Jan. 8, Virginians filed 2,446 initial claims, an increase of 633 from the week before. Continued claims totaled 7,895, down 3,367 from the previous week.
Compared to last year, increased claims were almost 92% lower than the 28,227 recorded then. Continued claims were 88% lower than the 63,687 from the comparable week last year. People receiving unemployment benefits through the VEC must file weekly unemployment claims in order to continue receiving benefits.
The majority of claimants who filed for benefits last week reported being in these industries: construction administrative and waste services accommodation and food services and health care and social assistance.
Nationwide, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 230,000, an increase of 23,000 from the previous weeks unrevised level. There were 1.08 million initial claims in the comparable week in 2021. The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 419,446.
