What To Do After Receiving Funds

In New Yorkas in every other stateemployees who are temporarily out of work through no fault of their own may qualify to collect unemployment benefits. The eligibility rules, prior earnings requirements, benefit amounts, and other details vary from state to state, however.
Here are the basic rules for collecting unemployment compensation in New York.
When And How Will I Be Paid My New York State Unemployment
It takes about three to six weeks from the time you file New York unemployment claims to when you receive your first payment due to processing and reviewing of your New York unemployment application. You will not receive benefits during this time, but if you are approved, you will receive back weeks of benefits owed with your first payment.
It is important to note that the first full week of your UI claim is an unpaid waiting week. You will not be paid any benefits during this period. If you work at all for any reason or do not serve the full week for any other reason, the unpaid week will roll over to the next week. You must still claim this week so that you can begin receiving benefits the following week.
However, New York is currently waiving the seven-day waiting period for those who are out of work due to COVID-19.
While you are waiting, you need to be responsive to any requests made by the Department of Labor. You should also claim weekly benefits as long as you are unemployed and are eligible for benefits. This is the only way you will receive any back weeks owed to you.
You can also receive benefits by direct deposit into your bank account. Physical checks are no longer mailed. To sign up for direct deposit, you can register on the New York State unemployment website.

The basic UI system is funded through payroll taxes, which are levies that employers have to pay on their employees. They exist at both the state and federal level, and are forward-funded, similar to the Social Security system. The federal government pays the administrative costs, though during periods of economic distress, it provides more funding to states for expanded benefits.

For How Long Can Unemployment Benefits Be Collected
As a general rule, the beneficiaries of this contributory unemployment benefit can receive one month of payment for every three months of contributions. But they must have worked at least one year.
Hence, the contributory unemployment benefit in Spain is received for at least 4 months. From there, the more days of accrued Social Security contributions, the longer the benefit can be received, until the legal maximum is reached.
The maximum period allowed by Spanish law to receive contributory unemployment benefit is 2 years, regardless of how many years you have worked.

How Do I File For Unemployment Benefits In Florida
Before you apply for Florida unemployment benefits, you will need to have the following information available to support your claim. Florida unemployment application requirements include:
- Social Security number
- Contact information for each of your employers for the past 18 months
- The dates you worked for each employer for the past 18 months
- The amount of wages you earned from each employer for the past 18 months
