For most states, direct depositing your unemployment is easy, even if you are already receiving unemployment benefits via prepaid card. Make sure the name on the payment matches the name on the bank account.
Information youll need differs by state but generally it includes:

Youll need to log into your states unemployment website and enter your Chime Spending Account and routing numbers, which can be found in your Chime app under Settings.

How Do I Apply For Unemployment Benefits In Virginia
You can file an initial claim online on the VEC website.
To file a claim by phone, call the Customer Contact Center telephone number at 1-866-832-2363, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., MondayFriday.
Before filing an initial claim, you will need to have several pieces of information available:
- Social Security number
- The reason why you lost your last job
- If you are not a US. citizen, you will need an Alien Registration Number.

How Do I Apply For Unemployment Benefits In Texas
You can apply online for Texas unemployment benefits through Unemployment Benefit Services. The Texas Workforce Commission has a PDF tutorial that walks you through each step. It also contains the link you need to access to apply online as well as step-by-step instructions to complete your application.
As part of your application process, you will need to complete a work search registration. To do so, go to WorkinTexas.com and complete that application process. You can also register for work in person at a Workforce Solutions office.

Yes. Tipped workers qualified for benefits even before COVID-19 and should continue to be eligible for Texas benefits or federal stimulus bill benefits. Your employer is supposed to report all of your income, including tips. If your employer didnt report any or all of your income you should still qualify for benefits under the federal stimulus bill because it doesnt require any earning history. But you will need to provide documentation showing that you worked if your employer did not report any earnings to the TWC.

The Internal Revenue Service said it will review all tax returns filed before the March legislation was signed into law. The agency “is reviewing those tax returns to determine the correct taxable amount of unemployment compensation and tax. What Happens When Texas Unemployment Benefits Run Out
Unemployment insurance benefits are intended to serve as a financial bridge for a worker who is between jobs. In Texas, an employee who is out of a job through no fault of their own and who meets certain financial requirements can apply for, and get, up to 26 weeks of UI benefits. Federal pandemic UI programs extend the period of time that state UI benefits are available. An individual who is still unemployed after their state benefits periods has passed are eligible for extended UI coverage for an additional 13 weeks. Sometimes, claimants are also eligible for high unemployment program benefits of an additional seven weeks.
Under Texas state unemployment insurance laws, benefits are available to qualified claimants for up to 26 weeks. Federal pandemic UI legislation has extended the duration to 70 weeks. Those still unemployed may be eligible for 13 additional weeks of extended state benefits and seven additional weeks of high unemployment period benefits.
I Received A Notice That I Have To Repay The Benefits I Received What Can I Do
It Is not uncommon for the TWC to say someone is qualified, pay them benefits, and then later decide the person never qualified and demand repayment.
If you receive a notice that you were overpaid benefits and must repay them, you can appeal this decision. You have 14 days to appeal from the date it was sent. The notice you receive will tell you the date by which you must file your appeal. Just like with any other decision that you can appeal you will be given a telephone hearing to argue why you were not overpaid. No late appeals will be accepted.
It is also likely that you received a decision saying you never qualified in the first place for benefits and that is why you were overpaid. You need to appeal BOTH the determination that you never qualified for benefits and the decision that you were overpaid.

How Did The March 2021 Coronavirus Relief Package Affect My Benefits
A $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package signed into law March 11 extended two pandemic unemployment programs authorized by the CARES Act into the first week of September. Lawmakers also extended a federal benefit that added an extra $300 a week to all unemployment claims. But jobless Texans only had access to these benefits through June 26, after Gov. Greg Abbott said in mid-May that Texas would opt out of the federal assistance.
The legislative package also included a tax break for anybody who received $10,000 in unemployment benefits during the pandemic.
